The Nursery provides a specialist day care provision for children aged 0-8 years who have complex health needs and/or learning disabilities across Rochdale and the surrounding areas. We employ and train practitioners to the highest standard to ensure they are competent and confident in providing the specialist care that each individual child needs and deserves.
There is always a qualified nurse or experienced health professional on site. Our service is provided from a purposefully designed commercial property in the heart of Rochdale town centre, providing great public transport links, accessible parking and ample opportunities for the children to get out and explore.
Our operating hours are:
Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 6pm
(Open all year except Bank Holidays)
The Nursery endeavours to provide high quality, safe and effective care to meet both the child’s health and learning needs simultaneously. We achieve this by using child centered approaches, promoting individual learning styles, and providing opportunities for all children to reach their optimal growth and development whilst being cared for in a happy and safe environment.
I am a qualified paediatric nurse with both acute and community experience in caring for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. I am also a qualified specialist community public health practitioner and nurse prescriber with almost 10 years of NHS experience. As the nursery manager, I utilise my specialist clinical skills and knowledge to ensure that first and foremost, our provision provides consistent, high quality, safe and holistic care for every child. In parallel, I ensure our setting provides a stimulating space for all children to learn in a way that is fun and bespoke to them. I also advise and educate on public health priorities, including dental health, child obesity and home safety.
I am a qualified accountant with over 10 years of experience in public sector finance. My experience spans a range of different organisations (central government, arms' length bodies and the NHS) and a vast array of finance roles, including financial planning, business partnering and transformation. This has equipped me with sound business sense, strong financial modelling skills and a good working knowledge of accounting rules and requirements. I am also the mother of a 4-year-old non-verbal autistic boy which means I am uniquely placed to balance the needs of The Nursery as a business with those of a high quality, caring and much needed local service provision.
Our nursery is unique and solely operated to suit our children's specific needs. Below are a few statements that sets us aside from other nurseries and how our setting could be a more suitable fit for your child.
